Dwight Gayle is reported to have signed a new four-year deal at Crystal Palace.

Not bad for a lad who, just four years ago, was playing for Bishop's Stortford.

The 26-year-old has only ever been a bit-part Eagle in the Premier League, but whenever the former Peterborough man has always delivered when called upon.

In 65 appearances across all competitions, Gayle has scored 24 goals.

After the striker scored his first Premier League goal of the season to salvage a point at West Ham United, his boss Alan Pardew said: "Dwight is the one we think can get us goals. He’s got that knack of getting us goals from nothing."
