Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has called upon fans to get behind the team ahead of this weekend’s crunch Premier League clash with Norwich City.

The Canaries visit Selhurst Park on Saturday knowing three points would take them level on points with the Eagles at the wrong end of the table.

They also arrive on the crest of a wave following last weekend’s dramatic win over Newcastle United, and knowing that Pardew’s men have not won a league game this year.

Pardew is excepting a tense atmosphere in south east London and has laid down the gauntlet to the Eagles faithful.

“It’s natural for a crowd, particularly after the start we had to this campaign, to have raised expectations,” he said.

“The fans will be nervous on Saturday, they have to sit and worry, but we won’t. We’re confident.

“We need to get the crowd behind us to help us attack the game. It’s going to be loud and intimidating, so Norwich will have to deal with it.

“Our fans are going to be really up for this game. Those I’ve bumped into during the week are really fired up.”
