A voluntary group are hunting for the best snaps of South Norwood for a photography competition.

People for Portland Road have relaunched the competition in the run up to the South Norwood Arts Festival in June.

There are two categories, adults and under-16s, with the top prizes being £100 cash and £50 cash respectively.

Entries must be received by the end of May for judging by local photographer Andrew Gilpin, with the winners to be announced at the Festival Fair on Sunday, June 14.

Heather Hardle, of People for Portland Road, said: “We’re really pleased that our local estate agents has been able to support this competition and provide these fantastic prizes, particularly in the current financial climate.

“Thanks to Kilostate we expect a great response from people who would like to capture on film their personal perspective of South Norwood.

"We would love to hear from any photographic developers who could produce prints for display and from anyone who could lend us some space in their shop front to display entries.”

Entry forms for the South Norwood photo competition are available by email from contact@peopleforportlandroad.org.uk or text or phone People for Portland Road on 07982 444 773.

Entries will be on display during the South Norwood Arts Festival which runs from the June 10 to 14.
