Nearly £30,000 worth of lottery grants have been dished out to Croydon good causes this month as part of Awards for All.
The small grants scheme, administered by the Big Lottery Fund, hands out awards from £300 to £10,000 to grass-roots community groups and voluntary organisations.
Forestdale Primary School Parent Teacher Association has been awarded the maximum £10,000 grant, as has Gonville Primary School.
Rugby team the Croydon Hurricanes have received £4,230, while the Asian Resource Centre of Croydon received £5,000.
Debbie Pippard, Big Lottery Fund head of the London region, said: “It’s wonderful to usher in the new year with grants for 79 terrific projects working to bring the community closer and helping schools, community groups and those most in need get access to the opportunities, support and skills they need.
"I’m delighted to say that £626,218 worth of Lottery money should make a tangible impact on many London lives.”
