Purley Oaks has been named the worst-performing train station in Croydon, according to the latest punctuality figures.

Data from On Time Trains covering the last six months shows Purley Oaks ranked 2,139th out of 2,649 stations across the UK, with an overall performance score of 82 per cent.

The performance score is calculated using service punctuality and cancellation frequency, with 12,850 services analysed during the period.

Just 21 per cent of trains at Purley Oaks arrived on time, the lowest punctuality rate of any station in the Croydon borough.

A further 48 per cent of services were delayed by one to two minutes, while 17 per cent were three to four minutes late.

Nine per cent of trains were delayed by between five and nine minutes, with three per cent arriving more than 10 minutes late.

Around two per cent of services were cancelled.

Purley was the second worst-performing station in the borough, ranking 2,030th nationally with a performance score of 82 per cent.

Of the 51,242 services analysed, 41 per cent arrived on time, while around 31 per cent were delayed by one to two minutes, and four per cent of services were cancelled.

Kenley ranked as Croydon’s third worst-performing station, with a performance score of 83 per cent.

The station ranked 2,043rd overall, with 12,650 services analysed.

Only 13 per cent of trains arrived on time, while 55 per cent were delayed by one to two minutes, and two per cent of services were cancelled.

East Croydon, the borough’s busiest station, also recorded a performance score of 83 per cent.

A total of 147,471 services were analysed, with 49 per cent arriving on time.

Around 25 per cent were delayed by one to two minutes, while four per cent were cancelled.

South Croydon also achieved a performance score of 83 per cent, ranking 1,789th nationally.

Of the 25,197 services analysed, 40 per cent arrived on time, while 33 per cent were delayed by one to two minutes.

Six per cent of services were cancelled.

Coulsdon South ranked next, with a score of 83 per cent.

The station saw 25,160 services analysed, with half of trains arriving on time.

Around 24 per cent were delayed by one to two minutes and four per cent were cancelled.

Reedham ranked slightly higher with a performance score of 84 per cent.

The station recorded 11,862 services, with 43 per cent arriving on time.

Fifteen per cent were delayed by three to four minutes, while two per cent were cancelled.

Woodmansterne and Coulsdon Town both recorded scores of 85 per cent.

At Woodmansterne, 32 per cent of trains arrived on time from 11,799 services, while Coulsdon Town recorded 44 per cent punctuality across 11,871 services.

Sanderstead and Norwood Junction both recorded performance scores of 87 per cent.

Sanderstead saw 13,398 services analysed, with 49 per cent arriving on time, while Norwood Junction recorded 57 per cent punctuality across 71,457 services.

Waddon achieved a score of 88 per cent, ranking 1,061st nationally, with 27,078 services analysed.

Around 45 per cent of trains arrived on time, while four per cent were cancelled.

West Croydon recorded a performance score of 89 per cent.

The station ranked 903rd overall, with 61,932 services analysed.

Around 67 per cent of trains arrived on time, although five per cent of services were cancelled.

Riddlesdown also achieved 89 per cent, ranking 911th nationally.

The station saw 12,777 services analysed, with 54 per cent arriving on time and two per cent cancelled.

Selhurst recorded a performance score of 90 per cent.

Of the 37,877 services analysed, 61 per cent arrived on time, while four per cent were cancelled.

Thornton Heath was among the best-performing stations in Croydon, with a score of 91 per cent.

The station ranked 603rd nationally, with 35,331 services analysed.

Around 61 per cent of trains arrived on time, while three per cent were cancelled.

The best-performing station in Croydon was Norbury, which achieved a performance score of 92 per cent.

Norbury ranked 469th out of 2,649 stations, with 35,332 services analysed.

Around 67 per cent of trains arrived on time and three per cent were cancelled.
