Ezekiel Bertrand is a three-time award-winning journalist and reporter, and the youngest member of the Newsquest London team. He began his career at just 16 through the Young Reporters Scheme while balancing his GCSEs, joining full-time only four days after receiving his results. He achieved his NCTJ diploma in September 2025. Now 19, he reports across south London, north Kent, and what he describes as “Sweet Surrey” for titles including the News Shopper, Your Local Guardian, Surrey Comet and London Now. In 2025, he confounded expectations by becoming the youngest-ever winner of the prestigious NCTJ Apprentice of the Year Award and went on to win the AOP Award for Inspiring Local Journalism in 2026. Ezekiel is also the published author of the novel WARNING.
