New figures show which secondary schools in Sutton were most popular with families applying for places for the 2026-27 school year.
The data, released by the Department for Education, compares how many parents applied to each school as their first preference with how many places were available.
Some schools had far more applications than spaces, meaning many children did not get their first-choice school.
Other schools had fewer applications than available places, so they still had spaces left after offers were made.

The table below ranks every Sutton secondary school from the most oversubscribed to the least.
The figures are based only on first-choice applications from parents.
A negative number means more families applied than there were places available, making the school oversubscribed.
A positive number means fewer families applied than the number of places available.
However, this does not always mean the school still has empty spaces overall, as many pupils may have applied as a second or third choice.
When schools receive too many applications, places are decided using admissions rules.
These can include how close a child lives to the school, whether they already have a brother or sister there, or if they live in the school’s catchment area.
Schools with spare places may still accept applications, while waiting lists for popular schools can continue to change after National Offer Day.
A school’s popularity can depend on several factors, including location, transport links and Ofsted ratings.
The Department for Education figures may differ from the London Borough of Sutton primary school allocation data. Both sites feature some different categories such as the number of places available instead of the total offers made.
