A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after tripping and falling while attempting to flee police on foot in Battersea.
The Metropolitan Police requested a vehicle to stop on Prince of Wales Drive at around 3.50pm last Thursday (May 28).
The driver allegedly failed to stop, leading to a short police chase, reports London Now.
An eyewitness said: "It was crazy, it was like a scene from The Wire, it was dramatic and fortunate that no one got hurt."
Footage shows the suspect climbing out of the window of his car and attempting to run away before falling to the ground as an officer gave chase.
The man was later detained and remains in police custody.
Police said the vehicle crashed with two other cars before coming to a halt.
The eyewitness added: "The taxi driver got the full brunt of the crash, but he was OK.
"So many people could've been hurt or killed.
"It was like something out of a movie."
Further footage shows officers searching the vehicle while the suspect remained in handcuffs before being placed in the back of a police car.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "At around 15:50hrs on Thursday, 28 May, officers requested a vehicle to stop on Prince of Wales Drive, Battersea.
"The driver failed to do so and a short pursuit took place.
"The driver collided with two other vehicles before coming to a stop.
"The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken into custody, where he remains.
"There were no serious injuries."
