Flying Tiger Copenhagen appears to have closed its store at Croydon’s Whitgift Centre.
The Danish retailer, which sells a range of gifts, homeware and stationery, has been marked as permanently closed on Google, with a “goodbye Croydon” sign spotted on display at the store.
No official statement has yet been issued by Flying Tiger Copenhagen.
It comes after Your Local Guardian’s last visit to the Whitgift Centre in October found more than 70 units sitting empty.
A total of 73 shops were vacant, up sharply from 52 in June 2025 and 46 in September 2024, with dozens of storefronts boarded up, abandoned or left as blank units.
Among the stores no longer operating at the centre were major names including Superdry, The Body Shop and Beaverbrooks, alongside a range of smaller independent retailers.
Plans for a major overhaul of the site, led by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield in partnership with Croydon Council, are not expected to begin until at least 2028.
