A motorcyclist is in hospital after a crash with an ambulance in south London.
The incident between an ambulance and a motorbike happened in Brixton Road at the junction with Vassall Road just before 7.50am (April 14).
A second ambulance was dispatched to the original emergency call the vehicle had been responding to.
Emergency crews, including a clinical team manager and an incident response officer, were also sent to the scene of the Brixton Road crash.
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene before he was taken to hospital.
The LAS confirmed that the ambulance involved in the crash was not carrying any patients and that an internal investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.48am today (14 April) to reports of a road traffic collision involving one of our ambulances, which was responding to an emergency call, and a motorbike on Brixton Road at the junction with Vassall Road, Lambeth.
“Another ambulance and additional resources had already been dispatched to the original emergency. We sent an ambulance crew, a clinical team manager and an incident response officer to the collision in Brixton Road.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to hospital.”
