A domestic abuser from Surrey chased a woman on a motorbike and kicked her car during a year-long campaign of violence against her.
The victim first reported the incident to police in September 2025, telling officers how Paul Furniss from Lightwater drove alongside her vehicle and repeatedly lashed out at it as she tried to get away.
She later revealed a series of further offences, including threats, damage to personal belongings and repeated physical assaults over the course of a year.
Furniss, 26, was later charged in connection with the abuse.
He pleaded guilty at Croydon Crown Court to two counts of assault by beating, two counts of actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
On March 16, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
Acting Police Sergeant Stracey, of the West Surrey Domestic Abuse Team, said: “Nobody should live their life in fear.
“When a person chooses to abuse someone in a senseless manner over a sustained period, as Furniss did, the impact on that person can be immeasurable.
“Violence against women and girls is a priority for Surrey Police, and we remain committed to doing everything possible to bring perpetrators to justice.”
