Search the Public Notice PortalPlans to transform central Croydon have taken another step forward after developers launched a new round of public consultation on the regeneration project.
The latest update comes after the opening of Allders Parade, which brought new shops and restaurants into the former department store as part of early works for the wider scheme.
Seven stores opened gradually between September and December 2025, including a florist, café, and ice cream store.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield announced last week that it is seeking feedback on The Croydon Project, its vision to transform the town centre, including the Whitgift Centre, Centrale and the historic Allders building.
The scheme would see large parts of the shopping district redeveloped into a mixed-use destination with new homes, public spaces, shops, restaurants and leisure venues.
Under the latest proposals, the project could deliver around 2,500 to 3,000 new homes, alongside a new public square on the current Whitgift site, improvements to Centrale Shopping Centre and the restoration of the former Allders building.

Developers say the updated masterplan also includes greener public spaces, better walking routes through the town centre and more cultural and leisure uses, following feedback from earlier consultations.
They add that work linked to the wider regeneration is already under way, with new shops and restaurants opening at Allders Parade, refurbishment continuing along North End, and a planning application submitted earlier this year for improvements to Centrale.
