A south London Wetherspoon pub is opening a new beer garden as part of a major upgrade ahead of the warmer months.
JD Wetherspoon has spent £500,000 on a 1,500 square foot outdoor area at The Kings Tun in Kingston.
The beer garden opens today (March 10).
The Clarence Street venue will see extra seating for customers in time for the spring and summer months.
The garden has been built to give drinkers and diners more space away from the main bar area, with tables laid out to cater for everything from quick drinks to longer meals.
The new space will give customers the option to eat and drink outside throughout the day, from breakfast and coffee through to evening meals and late‑night drinks.
The Kings Tun is the town centre's main Wetherspoon pub spread over two floors, offering food and drink from early morning until late in the evening.
The pub, housed in a converted entertainment venue on one of Kingston’s main shopping streets, features multiple seating areas, step‑free access and free Wi‑Fi.
It is a short walk from Kingston station and the riverside.
Pub manager Danielle Stephen said: “The Kings Tun is an extremely popular pub in the town.
“We aim to offer our customers the best possible pub and believe the addition of a beer garden will be welcomed.”
The Kings Tun is open from 8am to 12am from Sunday to Tuesday, 8am to 1am on Wednesday and Thursday, and 8am to 1.30am on Friday and Saturday.
