Five Sutton pubs have been recognised in the 2026 edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide.
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has released the 53rd edition of its Good Beer Guide, the UK’s best-selling beer and pub directory.
The guide, which features thousands of the best pubs nationwide, is a must-have for beer enthusiasts looking for top-quality pints across the UK.
This year’s edition highlights five popular Sutton pubs that have made the prestigious list.
Despite a challenging economic climate, these pubs show that licensees and pub lovers are working hard to keep quality and choice alive.
Compiled by thousands of CAMRA volunteers, the Good Beer Guide showcases the vibrant pub and social club culture at risk from closures and declining numbers of independent breweries.

Here are the five Sutton pubs that have been recognised in the 2026 edition:
Moon on the Hill – 5-9 Hill Road
The Moon on the Hill is a large, busy Wetherspoon conversion just off Sutton’s main shopping street.
The single bar serves a spacious ground-floor area, with additional seating on raised and lower levels.
There are two small rear patio areas and seating outside the front entrance.
Beers on offer include Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best Bitter, Sharp’s Doom Bar, and seven rotating guest ales sourced from across the UK.
The pub hosts occasional beer festivals, as well as Meet the Brewer and tap takeover events, making the Moon on the Hill a lively destination for locals and visitors alike.
Nonsuch Inn – 552-556 London Road
The Nonsuch Inn is a compact Wetherspoon pub that opened in 1995 and stands in the shopping area on the site of the former Granada cinema.
The pub is named after what was probably the greatest of Henry VIII’s palaces, which stood on the west side of today’s Nonsuch Park.
Its history is celebrated in texts and illustrations on the walls, alongside a three-quarter-scale statue of Henry VIII.
Beers include Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best Bitter, Sharp’s Doom Bar, and six rotating guest ales.
The Nonsuch Inn provides a welcoming environment for both history enthusiasts and real ale lovers.
Hope – 48 West Street
The Hope is a cosy, characterful community-owned free house, proudly run by locals and renowned for its ever-changing line-up of cask ales and craft beers, strongly focused on independent breweries.
The pub has a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and no music or TV, encouraging great conversation.
Regular beer festivals make it a must-visit for real ale enthusiasts.
Local CAMRA Pub of the Year 2025, the pub has also been a previous regional winner.
Beers on offer include Downton New Forest Ale, Windsor & Eton Knight of the Garter, and five rotating ales.
Railway Tavern – 47 North Street
The Railway Tavern is a street-corner community local close to the railway station, adorned with hanging baskets and window boxes beneath fine etched windows.
The cosy interior has a small U-shaped drinking area around a central bar, with a comfortable space to one side and covered seating outside.
Walls display various items of railway and scooter/mod memorabilia, giving the pub a distinctive character.
Beers include Dark Star Hophead, Fuller’s London Pride, and Gale’s HSB.
The pub opens in the early afternoon during the week.
Whispering Moon – 25 Ross Parade
The Whispering Moon is a popular and busy Wetherspoon pub in the town centre, close to the station.
The white Portland stone façade is from the former Odeon cinema, with the entrance and foyer forming part of the bar.
Framed photos placed around the walls document local history, including lavender fields, the railway, and Croydon Airport.
Beers on offer include Fuller’s London Pride, Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best Bitter, Sharp’s Doom Bar, Twickenham The Naked Ladies, and three rotating guest ales often from Gower, Oakham, and Titanic breweries.
The manager is keen to source guest beers from local breweries, making the Whispering Moon a welcoming spot for both residents and visitors.
