The Round Table Carshalton Fireworks will not take place this November and are not expected to return.
Since the 1950s, the Wallington and Carshalton Round Table has hosted an annual charity fireworks display in Carshalton Park on the nearest Saturday to Bonfire Night (November 5).
The display took place every year except for 2020 due to the pandemic and 2024 due to organisational challenges, insufficient support, and rising costs.
The Round Table cited increasing time commitments of members and organisers, a decline in the group’s numbers, and the costs of running the event as reasons for the cancellation.
The organisation has also struggled to maintain a strong membership capable of organising the display.
A spokesperson for the Round Table confirmed to Your Local Guardian that the fireworks would not return for 2025 and that the cancellation is permanent for the foreseeable future.
The last charity giveaway night took place in February, which was also the last time the Wallington and Carshalton Round Table posted on Facebook.
Despite the end of the fireworks, the Round Table remains committed to charity and continues to donate money raised through these events to worthy causes.
