Mohini Balti House in Sutton has won the Regional Takeaway of the Year in the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA).

The ARTA awards search for the best restaurant or takeaway in different categories and bring them together for cook-offs to find the ultimate UK Asian restaurant or takeaway.

Mohini Balti House in Gordon Road serves Indian cuisine, featuring a variety of dishes including tandoori dishes, Mohini baltis, biryani, classic dishes, thali dishes, and more.

According to the takeaway, they “use only the freshest and highest quality ingredients to ensure that each dish is packed with flavour and authenticity.”

The owners originally ran a restaurant in Beddington Lane, Croydon, from 1989 before moving to the venture near Carshalton Beeches train station.

The takeaway is open every day from 5pm to 10.30pm.

One reviewer pn TripAdvisor said: “The only place we would now consider for an Indian takeaway.

“Can never remember the name so my son always calls it the "really tasty takeaway".

“Reasonably priced as well.

“Never had any problem with the time taken to deliver as well.”

Another said: “Every single person in the family loved it and said we've found our new regular!

“Great flavours and very well spiced! Best puri I've had outside India!”

Three other South London restaurants also won awards.

Colombo Kitchen Restaurant in Kington upon Thames was named Sri Lankan Restaurant of the Year.

Indian Panorama in East Molesey in Kingston Upon Thames won the Chef of the Year award.

Finally, Saka Maka, a restaurant in Hither Green, has been named Regional Restaurant of the Year.
