SYCT won Low Budget Project of the Year at the Hollis Sponsorship Awards 2012. The project combined volunteering and DIY by young people aged 14-17 to learn vocational trade and building skills on the job by committing to fix local youth club and community buildings in need of essential repairs.
Developed by The Co-Sponsorship Agency, in partnership with A4e, London Youth, Pimlico Plumbers, Inspired and Wickes, the VIY project was successfully piloted at the start of 2011 at Streatham Youth and Community Trust.
