The cross on the front of St Christopher’s, Hinchley Wood, was dark for an hour on 31st March as the church joined hundreds of thousands of people across the world marking Earth Hour. From 8.30-9.30pm St Christopher’s switched off, as did the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building, Great Wall of China and Acropolis. Earth Hour Earth Hour, held on the last Saturday of March every year, began in 2007 to raise awareness of environmental concerns and global warming.
