It is widespread knowledge the cruelty and killings of dogs cats etc in Romania - but many people do not know or understand how bad this is for these innocent murdered dogs plus our fellow humans who face this awful situation on a daily basis in this awful country. I have many Romanian friends and fellow animals lovers who are pleading for more exposure and thus awareness.

A recent debate by members of EU parliament was on Romania and the barbaric treatment of animals in their hell holes called public shelters, and dog catchers, and inhumane treatment to their poor inmates.    Death is a release for these creatures, but this is not even done humanely and it is not to be allowed to continue with your help.

It has saddened me seeing this debate first, because street dogs and cats are not even covered under legislation by EU to allow intervention at the moment and that is surely vital to allow any sanctions or laws to be implemented in Romania and other countries.

It is widely known that spay and neutering is the way to control the population of dogs and cats, and not killing indiscriminately as this achieves nothing in the long term.   I personally spend most of my small pension in helping the dogs in Romania, with food/rescue/medication/ as well as the neutering and have helped many get homes who would now almost certainly have been slaughtered.      I have a Romanian pup who otherwise would have died if not adopted, he is lovely and I had him at 5 months of age.

My dear friend Elaine Renton is in Romania now doing her own research at the heart of the situation and will report all later.   Her local press  interview is on this link below. She has organised protests in London before and is dedicated in trying to solve ways of helping these dogs plight and raise awareness - video link below:

Members in this debate are trying to start a revolution of changes and are adamant they will happen.

I will not rest until we save these poor animals.
