London Scottish head coach Simon Amor has admitted planning for another season in the Championship started well before the final day drama on Saturday.
The Exiles, who stayed up thanks to Charlie Hayter’s bonus-point try in a 31-26 defeat at the Athletic Ground, are expected to trim their squad for next term with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity.
“The good thing is the foundations, in terms of wanting to fight and die for each other, are already there,” he said.
“The players who played their first season in the Championship this year will be in a better place next season.
“But on top of that we are expecting to bring in a bit more experience.
“The recruitment process never really stops in terms of getting the right people in.
“There has been a lot of people doing a lot of work already to get the final pieces of the jigsaw in place for next season.
“The squad will be smaller, but I feel it will be better in terms of quality.”
