Old Wimbledonians began their league campaign with a 24-11 defeat at Old Wellingtonians on Saturday.
They actually led with just four minutes remaining, but some poor decision-making cost them dear.
However, newcomers Cormac Healy and Tom Wheeler shone and in due course will become influential members of the side.
Dermot Dooley is now back with the Old Boys and looked sharp in attack and mean in defence.
Tthe most outstanding feature of the visitors play was their aggressive defence which did not allow the home team to build any momentum , nor settle into their all-pound pattern of play.
Skipper David Robertson set the aggressive pattern and number eight Peter Fokes was always at his elbow.
The backs spread the ball wide on a number of occasions, but wingers George Attipoe and Dooley did not get many chances to show their pace.
OWs host Old Alleynians on Saturday at Coombe Lane (3pm).
