Mike Schmid’s Esher continued their scintillating start to the season after taking their points tally past the 200 mark with a comprehensive 62-15 win over Cinderford.

The first half saw a brace of tries by Esher’s Samoan international scrum half Garrick Cowley and Seb Jewell, One by Sam Ulph, David Slemen and Jonny Hylton, and some superb goal kicking by Ulph gave Esher a 41 point to 3 half time lead.

The visitors tackled hard and a couple of scuffles showed their frustration but Esher’s power and willingness to run had the game well sown up by half time.

With several Esher substitutions made shortly after the restart the flow of the game slowed and allowed Cinderford to get back into the game. Esher though may sure they would come out on top and further tries by Slemen, Ulph and Turner gave Esher an unassailable 62 points to 15 victory over a side that has been highly regarded in this league last season.

Mike Schmid has his side playing for each other and with big games ageist Redruth and London Scottish in successive weeks they will certainly be able to rise to the challenge.

Cinderford’s points came from replacement winger Rubien Haile and kicks by Alistair Bressington.

Next Saturday Esher travel to Redruth for a 3pm kick off, the following week features a massive Local derby versus London Scottish.
