Joe Johnston is predicting big things for Streatham Redskins after returning to the club.

The winger, who has scored 141 goals in 165 games for them, missed the last campaign after taking a sabbatical to travel through Asia.

But, now he is back, he is looking toward exciting times, with Will Sanderson and Adam Mahoney and new additions Dom Hopkins and Jakob Klima already signed on for the new season, where they will hope to better their lowly finish last season.

“Barry Spours (head coach) is assembling a decent team on paper and I’m hopeful we’ll be competitive and maybe spring a few surprises,” said the 32-year-old, below, who has visited the club’s new Brixton rink.

“I haven’t been back long but I’ve been to the new rink and I think it’s great.

“I can’t wait to pull on the famous jersey again.

“It’s always been the highest of honours to represent Streatham and to be a part of this new chapter of the club’s history is exciting.”
