Blade Ashby won the national indoor U17 men’s multi-events title in Sheffield last weekend.
He scored 4,612 points to finish more than 300 points clear of the rest, winning three individual events out of seven.
Ashby’s performances: 60m sprint 7.31 seconds; long jump 6.41m; shot 11.37m; high jump 1.89m; 60m hurdles 8.40 seconds; pole vault 3.01m; 1,000m 3:02.06.
Meanwhile, Roger Alsop finished 20th in the Trafford 10km race, and was first over-45 veteran in 32 minutes, 19 seconds.
