Twickenham Ladies reached the semi-finals of the Super 8s competition thanks to an eight-wicket victory at home to Portsmouth on Sunday.
Drawn at home against league rivals Portsmouth in the quarter-finals of the Super 8's competition, Twickenham ladies having lost the toss we were put into bat.
The ladies made a shaky start losing Sunny Pottay and Randika Galhenge in the first two overs but from there on in, it was runs all the way. Charlotte Gallagher retired on 52 and with Kat Dickens's 39, along with the other bats all contributing saw a formidable target of 176 for 5 wickets on the board at the close of innings for Portsmouth to reach.
Portsmouth started well but soon lost momentum once their top order bats were dismissed and with captain Ann Baker taking four wickets, the game was comfortably won by 54 runs.
Top scorer for Portsmouth was Samantha Barriball 29 closely followed by Gabby Basketter on 26.
Next Sunday sees the ladies travel to East Molesey Cricket club to face Radlett in the semi finals and if successful will face the winners of the Broomfield and Leeds versus Brighton & Hove match, the other semi-finalists, later that day.
