Hercules Wimbledon AC youngsters showed fine form in meetings on Wimbledon Common, in Richmond Park and at Ewell over the weekend.

Best of the bunch was 12-year-old Oscar White, who smashed his personal best time in finishing seventh out of more than 300 runners in the Richmond Park 5km parkrun on Saturday in 19 minutes, six seconds.

His time was the second best age-graded performance in Saturday's field and the second best-ever recorded by a Hercules Wimbledon runner, with Harris Mier breaking the record earlier this summer with 18:50.

White's time also took 52 seconds off his previous best set in Richmond Park in October 2011 and it was his first appearance in the Richmond park event for almost a year.

Teenager Connor Bindler also posted a personal best time when he finished fifth out of more than 400 runners in the Wimbledon Common parkrun on Saturday.

Bindler, who like White is a member of the young athletes endurance group coached by Hercules Wimbledon's Mark Livingstone, clocked 17:23 to improve on his previous best time set at the beginning of June by 31 seconds.

Bindler's time is the sixth best ever recorded by a Hercules Wimbledon U17 runner and was the fifth best age-graded performance in Saturday's race.

His clubmate Matt Gibbons was 17th in 18:46, with over 35 veteran Oliver Evans 25th in a personal best of 19:09.

Bindler completed a busy weekend when he finished sixth out of more than 300 runners in the Capital Runners 10km multi-terrain race in Bushy Park on Sunday in 36:38.

There were two double winners among a contingent of 12 Hercules Wimbledon youngsters who contested the Lily B Girls League Plate final at Ewell on Saturday.

Surrey County and Surrey Schools hurdles finalist Chloe Lord posted a personal best 29.6 seconds in winning the U15 200m, while she also won the 75m hurdles in 13.2secs.

Another double winner was Katie Schot who won the U17 shot and discus events, while Jacqui Clark won the U15 javelin and Zara Hashimi won the U15 100m B race.

Hercules Wimbledon's marathon-running mum Claire Grima smashed the club's previous women's course record by around 30 seconds at the Jurassic Coast multi-terrain 10km event in Budleigh Salterton, Devon.

She was 12th, and third woman, out of more than 200 runners in 40:02, with husband Dave finishing fourth overall, more than two minutes faster, in 37:52.

This weekend, Hercules Wimbledon athletes are competing in the Surrey County Combined Events and track relay championships which are being staged at the David Weir Arena, Sutton, on both Saturday and Sunday.

Also on Sunday, Hercules Wimbledon's youngsters will be competing in the final South London Athletics Network meeting at Tooting Bec, starting at 10am.
