Ryman Premier
Carshalton Athletic picked up their first home points of the Ryman Premier season at the fifth attempt thanks to a Kieran Woodley strike in a 1-0 win over Billericay Town.
The win lifted Tommy Williams’ side to 22nd in the table, ahead of tomorrow night’s visit of Harrow Borough to Colston Avenue.
At the other end of the table, Kingstonian returned to winning ways following their exit from the FA Cup last weekend.
Matt Drage and Ryan Moss got the goals that saw off Hendon 2-1 on the road on Saturday.
Met Police continued to struggle going down 3-0 at home to Bury Town, while Hampton & Richmond followed up their 4-0 demolition of Cray Wanderers, with a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Bognor Regis on the south coast.
Ryman Division One South
Walton Casuals opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table after goals from Samuel Labinjo, Malik Ouani and a Bobby Traynor penalty saw off Worthing 3-1 at the Waterside stadium.
Meanwhile, promotion rivals Leatherhead opened the scoring against Whitstable at Fetcham Grove on Saturday through Tom Bradbrook’s seventh goal of the season.
However, the Oystermen, who had been struggling at the wrong end of the table, came back with two goals to take all three points back to north Kent.
Walton & Hersham went down 4-2 at Folkestone Invicta – Mark McLeod and James McShane getting the goals – to record a third consecutive defeat.
Life will get no easier for Steve Baker’s men as they go to Leatherhead on Wednesday.
Craig Tanner’s Tooting & Mitcham lost 2-0 at Sittingbourne meaning they only have two wins from 10 games to their name.
There is more to worry about at Corinthian Casuals who remain without a win since the opening game of the season after a 3-2 defeat at Three Bridges leaves them second from bottom – goals from Steve Lang and Jamie Byatt were not enough.
