Terry Brown expects the squad who turn up for AFC Wimbledon's pre-season training today to be the one that starts the club's first Football League season.

The 58-year-old has added five players to his squad this summer after confirming the signatures of Charles Ademeno, Chris Bush and Mat Mitchel-King this week, adding them to Jack Midson and Max Porter.

He has seen Kaid Mohamed and Steven Gregory depart for Cheltenham Town and AFC Bournemouth though and Danny Kedwell is expected to complete a switch to Gillingham today.

The Cherries twice had bids turned down for Gregory but a third offer, thought to be in the region of £50,000, was agreed on Wednesday and he signed for Lee Bradbury's men yesterday.

"We would like to keep both if we could as we don't want to be a selling club," said Brown.

"But sometimes, if a player wants to move on, you have to accept that is unavoidable.

"I want to go into Friday training with players fully committed to this club.

"We have made some fantastic signings and I am looking forward to working with them in training and seeing them in action against Fulham on July 9."

Striker Ademeno joins on a free transfer from Grimsby Town while Mitchel-King is a 6ft 4in central defender released by Crewe Alexandra and Bush has signed from Brentford having spent time on loan at Kingsmeadow last season.

Most of the Dons' promotion-winning squad have signed new contracts with youngsters Reece Jones and Jack Turner the latest to commit themselves after Seb Brown and James Mulley put pen-to-paper earlier in the week.

Only a handful of players have yet to sign but Brown is confident there won't be any problems.

"We are just trying to tie down the rest of our boys and finalise our squad," he said.

"I do not envisage any of our players not signing or having any problems.

"We want to start the season with a squad of 20 and that will be the most I have ever started a season with."
