Sutton United boss Paul Doswell has hailed Bradley Woods-Garness as the missing link after seeing his side to an FA Trophy triumph at Evesham United.
Woods-Garness - who has seven goals from 13 starts - climbed off the bench to his the decisive goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win that sets up a third qualifying round clash with Billericay Town at Gander Green Lane.
United squandered a host of chances before the striker hit his first goal since September to add £3,000 in prize money to the club coffers.
And Doswell is only too pleased his squad is approaching full strength again.
“We asked the lads to keep believing that a goal would come, and I was delighted for Bradley that he got it,” he said.
“He didn’t train on Thursday due to a sickness bug, so we had to put him on the bench.
“But he is a great impact player - something we have been lacking in recent weeks coming from the bench - and with Craig Dundas returning we now have more options available to us.”
