Mansfield Town 2-5 AFC Wimbledon

Five-star AFC Wimbledon stormed back to winning ways after thrashing Mansfield tonight.

Two goal from Sammy Moore, his first inside 20 seconds, one from Danny Kedwell and a goal apiece from Christian Jolley and Ryan Jackson secured one of this season's shock victories.

Boss Brown complained that Saturday's no-show against Forest Green was his side's worst performance to date.

This romp was easily their finest – thrashing their newly-rich promotion rivals with style at Field Mill.

The Dons manager was thrilled as the Stags were cut down to size in front of their home crowd.

“It was a memorable performance against a very good Mansfield side,” he said.

“They may think they didn't play well tonight, but we got off to the sort of start that would knock the stuffing out of most teams.

“We met a side today who played good football, they're one of the best footballing sides we've played and we scored from our first two chances. Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it doesn't.

“Everything ran for us tonight, I'm really pleased because we played a really good side – they scored two here and they could have three or four, so it wasn't quite as easy as the scoreline suggested.

“I just thought it was a fantastic game of football. The Mansfield substitutions livened it up for them – Kedwell's (third) goal didn't feel like it killed the game off. I didn't feel that comfortable to be honest, the fourth and the fifth go in and you think it's your day.

“And it was our day today – our football was splendid, the pitch is the best we've played on this season and it helped us.”
