AFC Wimbledon’s commercial director Ivor Heller says the club’s new partnership with noodle giants Nongshim will only have a positive impact upon the club’s involvement within the local community.
This comes after the League Two side has agreed to hold Nongshim’s first ever Korea Day at Kingsmeadow, where more than 200 complimentary tickets for Saturday’s match against Morecambe have been made available by the club for the local Korean community.
Heller said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the club to engage with the local Korean community and showcase what we have to offer here at AFC Wimbledon.”
Dan Suh, the managing director of Korea Foods has also echoed Heller’s words in suggesting that the link between AFC Wimbledon and Nongshim will result in positive results.
He said: “AFC Wimbledon is such an important part of the community and Korea foods wants to help them to be able to communicate with the potential Korean fanbase, many of whom live within two miles of the stadium.
“Football as a sport has grown in popularity in South Korea since the 2002 World Cup and there are South Koreans playing at the highest level throughout Europe and the Premier League.”
Traditional Korean food and drinks alongside Korean entertainment will also feature heavily at the match, with Nongshim also offering product sampling.
