Bees defender Legge joins Gillingham
4:48pm Monday 31st December 2012 in Football By Stuart Amos
Brentford defender Leon Legge will switch to League Two Gillingham on loan when the transfer window opens tomorrow.
The 27-year-old centre back will link up with former team mate Myles Weston having agreed a deal until January 29 - at which time the move is expected to be made permanent.
Legge, Brentford's player of the year in his first season at the club following his move to Griffin Park from non-League Tonbridge Angels in 2009, made 115 appearances for the Bees and scored 10 goals.
Boss Uwe Rosler said: "I think the move is in the best interests of Leon and us in the we fulfil his wish for regular playing time.
"I want to thank him for the service he gave the club and to me. He is an honest lad, gave his all and was an important member of the squad."
