Defender Jay Conroy says he is considering four contract offers from Blue Square Premier clubs.

The 24-year-old was released by AFC Wimbledon earlier in the summer and is looking for a deal that will allow him to continue his modelling career.

“I have had four offers from Conference clubs but I want to weigh up the options before I sign any contract,” said the former Palace trainee.

“I am currently living in South Croydon and I don't really want to quit my job, so I will have a chat with my family and make a decision when the time comes.”

Conroy says it was a wrench to leave AFC Wimbledon but is looking forward to returning to Kingsmeadow as a visiting player.

“The fans are very loyal there and of course I'm going to miss playing for them,” he added.

“It was hard for me at times. When I played five games in a row and the team kept five clean sheets I felt I was playing well but then, without explanation, I was dropped to pave the way for Sam Hatton.

“But the manager felt I wasn't attacking and his decision was final."

“You have to respect that and the fans were so supportive during my time.”

“It was a privilege playing in front of them and I have no hard feelings about leaving the club.”

Several of the other players released by Brown in the mass clear out have already found new clubs with Alan Inns joining Woking, Lewis Taylor unveiled as a Tonbridge Angels player, along with ex-skipper Derek Duncan and Paul Lorraine joining Blue Square outfit Ebbsfleet United.
