Brentford have played down reports of a tunnel bust-up following Tuesday’s 1-0 League One win over Colchester United.
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was involved in a little push-and-shove with the United players as they left the pitch, but boss Andy Scott was not overly concerned.
“The Colchester supporters had been having a go at Wojciech, he was happy we’d won and things got a bit heated,” he said.
“It was just a bit of frustration on their part and a bit of over exuberance from a young lad that can be excused. There was nothing to it.”
The Bees enjoyed the backing of Griffin Park’s 12th man as they racked up their first home league win since October, and the moment was not lost on Scott.
“The crowd drew inspiration off what we were doing and that’s what we’ve got to do,” he added.
“They got behind us and enjoyed what they saw. We know Brentford fans and all they want is for players to go out there and do their very best for the shirt.
“If we continue to do that, it will give everyone a big boost.”
