Former Brentford head coach Lee Carsley's successor at Griffin Park is no closer to being known.
The 41-year-old said at the weekend that Saturday's 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest would be his last at the helm with his replacement expected to be unveiled imminently.
Swansea City assistant Pep Clotet remains the favourite to be in charge by the time the Bees visit Bolton Wanderers on Monday night.
But with a new man unlikely to be named today, Brentford face the real prospect of being without a new head coach as the players report for duty ahead of the trip north.
Carsley, who will return to working with the club's development squad, has already said he will assist with the hand over when the new man takes on the job.
