Twickenham's John Collins says a fourth Henley win came more as a relief as anything else after missing out on victory last year.
The 26-year-old Team GB star teamed up with Leander Club team-mate to beat South African duo James Thompson and John Smith to win the men's Doubles Sculls Challenge title at Henley Royal Regatta's finals day on Sunday.
Collins missed out in agonising fashion 12 months ago, but was delighted to put the record straight this time around.
“It’s just such a relief to have done it right this time. It’s such a lovely feeling," he said.
"The winning Leander crews are always greeted with a bottle of champagne and I didn’t get that last year.
"That hurt, but this feels fantastic. It’s my fourth Henley win and by far my favourite."
Molesey Boat Club's James Foad and Leander Club's Matt Langridge teamed up to secure a comfortable five length triumph to lift the Silver Goblets & Nickalls' Challenge Cup in the men's pairs event.
Molesey Boat Club pair Moe Sbihi and George Nash were in the men's eight crew that beat Ruder Club Hansa von 1898 e.V. Dortmund to lift the Grand Challenge Cup.
And former Walton Rowing Club man Angus Groom was in the men's quadruple sculls crew that claimed the Queen Mother Challenge Cup title with a comfortable five length win over German opposition.
