AFC Wimbledon went out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at League One promotion chasers Brentford on a night that rained goals at Griffin Park.

Jim Fenlon, George Francomb and Peter Sweeney all hit their first goals of the season for the Dons, but they could not prevent a 5-3 defeat against their London rivals.

The result means Neal Ardley's men crashed out of the Capital One Cup and the JPT at the first hurdle, however, they are fourth in League Two after back-to-back wins at the Cherry Red Records stadium.

The Dons go to York City this weekend, before a trip to the current league leaders Chesterfield.
