A pensioner who punched a fellow allotment holder and kicked him whilst he was on the floor will not face any further action from Sutton Council.
On March 1, police were called to a fight between two men, one 64-years-old and the other 73.
The 73-year-old was taken to St Helier Hospital after the fight at the Belmont Allotment and his assailant was cautioned for common assault.
A council spokesman said: "The incident was dealt with at the time by the police who cautioned one of the individuals.
"The safety and security of our allotments and the allotment holders is of the utmost importance to us.
"Our legal department has considered this particular matter and our conclusion is that the police action was sufficient and appropriate so as to not warrant further action by the council."
