Police are investigating a serious assault with a chemical spray which took place at a busy shopping centre in Colliers Wood.
The assault, which took place at outside the Boots store in the Tandem Centre in High Street Colliers Wood, happened at 10am on Monday, April 25.
Police confirmed that an “incapacitant spray” was used, but are awaiting forensic tests to establish whether it was pepper spray or something similar.
They would not confirm if the victim of the attack was a member of staff at the Boots store.
A man and a woman were arrested following the attack.
A man in his thirties is currently under police guard in hospital. A 36-year-old woman has been released on bail until June 13.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call the police on 101 quoting reference 1404993/16.
