A rental van wedged under a low rail bridge blocked traffic passing through Wimbledon this afternoon.
Network Rail was called to the bridge in Lower Downs Road just after 12.30pm after a driver apparantly misjudged its height.
Trains running over the bridge were delayed over a 10 minute period while a Network Rail inspector checked to see if it had been damaged by the crash. But it was found to be safe.
The van's roof was crushed under the bridge. But it is understood the driver was not injured.
The notorious rail bridge is often misjudged by van and lorry drivers.
Only three weeks ago, a delivery van "folded up like a pack of cards" when its drivers attempted to pass under the bridge.

The bridge has multiple yellow and black signs as well as flashing signs warning of its height limit.
Are you the driver? Have you taken a photo of the van?
