A new preparatory school has selected it's head teacher and deputy head.

Wandsworth Preparatory School, in Allfarthing Lane, Wandsworth, will open its doors in September for children aged four to 11.

Melissa McBride, who lives in the borough, has been appointed as head of the school, with Bridget Saul selected as deputy head.

Ms McBride is currently head of PSCHE at Thomas's London Day School, Battersea and has 15 years of teaching experience.

She works as monitoring and evaluation co-ordinator at the school, with plans to develop relationships with the wider school community.

Ms McBride said: "Commitment, stamina, leadership, ambition, love of a challenge, and the ability to think on my feet are just some of the qualities I will be bringing to the role at Wandsworth Prep."

The non-selective preparatory day school is ran by the Bellevue Education Group, which owns seven independent schools in the UK.
