Police are appealing for witnesses after a 92-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Roehampton.
Elizabeth Tauber from Putney was in the Citizen's Advice Bureau car park in Roehampton Lane about 2.30pm when she was hit by a van.
Fire crews from Wandsworth and Wimbledon used air bags to lift the van off her as she was trapped underneath the wheels but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem examination took place at St George’s Hospital on Thursday, November 13. It found she died of multiple injuries.
A date will now be set for an inquest.
No arrests have been made but the driver of the van is helping police with their enquiries.
A police spokesman said: “It is believed that Elizabeth was crossing the road when the vehicle - a VW van - reversed and struck her.
"This incident occurred outside Roehampton University and officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area to contact them.”
Anyone with information should call the 24-hour police witness line which has been set up on 020 8941 9011.
