As Battersea Park gets ready to host the Formula E event in two weeks, race car drivers (and some wobbly journalists on electric bikes) are making their way round the track for the official launch today.

Jerome D’Ambrosio, one of the drivers, currently ranked fifth in the championship, said: "It's a very different feeling, especially when you race a car, all your senses are different - your ears, your eyes and your touch.

"You feel with Formula E cars the big difference is obviously noise.

"The race is really exciting, it's a great atmosphere between drivers. It's quite unbelievable to be racing in Battersea Park.

"It's just magic."

Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said: “One of our dreams was to race in London. One of our dreams was to exist.

“Whoever designed this beautiful park all those years ago did it with a race in mind.”

The race is on June 26 to 27.
