A man was tasered and police officers injured in the struggle after a domestic incident in Wandsworth in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to an alleged domestic assault in the SW18 postcode area of the borough at 3.30am this morning.

A spokesman did not wish to reveal the road name to protect the occupants of the home where the disturbance is said to have taken place this morning.

He said police attended the property and a man took off on foot so two officers gave chase.

They caught up with the man and he resisted arrest, the spokesman said, injuring the male and female officers.

A taser was used on the man and he was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and actual bodily harm.

None of those involved required hospital treatment and the man was taken into custody.

Wandsworth police tweeted about the incident: “A domestic violence suspect assaulted two officers then threatened other officers. Detained safely with Taser. victim/officers ok.”
