Police are hunting a man who put his hand up a woman’s skirt on her way to Clapham Junction.

British Transport Police are investigating the sexual assault, which happened at 7.30pm on Friday, October 31, as the woman travelled between Imperial Wharf and Battersea.

The woman noticed someone touching her from behind and felt a hand under her skirt which touched her indecently over her tights.

She reached out, grabbed the man’s hand and pushed him away as the train pulled into Clapham Junction. The man then fled the train.

Officers think he joined the train at Shepherds Bush and, after Clapham Junction, caught a train bound for the Surbiton or Wimbledon area.

Detective Constable Andy Parkinson said: “When the victim contacted police about the incident, she was still very shaken.

“We have studied CCTV from the train, and I think the man in the image we are issuing today has key information about this crime, and I now need the public’s help to identify him.”
