Commuters are facing severe delays and cancellations this evening on services through Streatham Common station.
People travelling on Southern trains are being told to expect delays of up to 40 minutes and short notice alterations to services because of emergency engineering work due to a faulty rail.
The Brighton Mainline, the Oxted Line, the Metro, the Redhill route, Mainline West, Mainline East and Gatwick Express are all affected.
Trains through Streatham Common, Norbury, West Croydon, Sutton, Epsom, Wandsworth Common and Balham are expected to be delayed until 7pm.
Passengers are being advised to use their tickets on London Buses, London Underground and Tramlink on all reasonable routes.
A spokesman for the rail company apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers.
