A holdall sparked a major security alert at Worcester Park station on Tuesday.
The 151 bus had to be evacuated when a suspect package was found at 6.34pm on the top deck.
Police officers quickly secured the area and closed off the station, taxi ranks and bus stands while investigations were made.
Road cordons were also put in place and the fire brigade was put on standby.
South West Trains was ordered not to stop at the station, which left commuters facing a lengthy walk from the two nearest stations, Stoneleigh or Motspur Park.
Police quickly discovered that the source of the security alert was a holdall with no suspicious contents and stood down their investigation an hour later at 7.46pm.
