A popular radiographer has received an award after being nominated by 11 patients in four weeks.
Gillian Forest, who works as a senior radiographer in St Helier Hospital’s x-ray department, was stunned to find so many people had put her forward her for the Chief Executive’s Award of Excellence.
Chief executive Daniel Elkeles said: “Gillian received an astonishing number of nominations from patients completing the Friends and Family Test, which is a truly fantastic achievement.
“Her patients were particularly keen to commend Gillian for her polite and friendly approach, as well as her excellent communication skills.
“I am extremely proud of Gillian for reflecting our values of putting the patient first and working as a team with her colleagues to provide great care to every patient, every day.”
The award is presented to a staff member nominated by patients or colleagues each month. Winners are given certificates and vouchers.
