Sutton high school pupils came home winners after competing in a multi-county tournament.
Two teams from Sutton Grammar school took on children from Suffolk, Ealing, Greenwich and Tower Hamlets to find solutions to waste problems in the real world.
The Grammar school children won the Core Values trophy at the Lego League tournament at the Queen Mary University London.
After presenting their project ideas and robot designs to a panel of academics the teams used Lego robots to complete a number of challenges.
The various challenges included one to sort out recycling items from non-recyclable items.
