UPDATE 15/12/2014: Scottish police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old man who will appear at Livingston Sheriff Court in West Lothian, Scotland, on Tuesday December 16.

A stolen Nissan sports car that can hit speeds of up to 190mph has been recovered by Sutton police.

The Nissan Skyline, which is one of roughly 20 of its kind in the UK, was tracked down by a motor enthusiast on social media.

The car was stolen during a break-in at house in Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland.

Police there alerted forces up and down the UK after the theft on Wednesday, December 10.

When they heard it was missing online enthusiasts triggered a campaign to return the Skyline to its rightful owner.

Sutton police were called at 6pm on Thursday, December 11, to be told it had been spotted in Woburn Road, Carshalton.

The Nissan was identified by its distinctive wheels, window stickers, harness straps, and a steering wheel with a yellow centre line.

It is now in a police pound.
